The University of Missouri is seeking a business development leader.
This individual will direct all aspects of business development for the University of Missouri Reactor and NextGen MURR Reactor enterprise.
The position is to establish and execute business development strategies to maximize the short and long-term revenue-generating potential of the current MURR reactor and the NextGen MURR initiative.
This position must maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, peer organizations, customers, competitors, and emerging technologies.
This individual must seek and pursue strategic opportunities with creativity and drive for sustainable business performance.
This position will also ensure alignment with university initiatives and all divisions within the MURR enterprise The Senior Director of Business development position will report directly to the Executive Director of MURR, Chief Operating Officer, or NextGen MURR Program Director.

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include Establish strategic business goals for the MURR enterprise.
Monitor progress through establishing and monitoring meaningful performance metrics.
Connect client needs with the capabilities of the university and the MURR/NextGen MURR enterprise Plan and direct business development in a manner that supports the organizational mission and priorities.
Establish short and long-term business strategies.
Direct sales and client relationship management.
Establish and maintain an extensive network of industry contacts.
Track new and existing markets and identify emerging trends and opportunities.
Recommend new products and services.
Write and present proposals and executive-level presentations.
Propose, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships.
Lead client visits and meetings.
Use knowledge of the market to identify and develop university’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Lead contract negotiations.
Guide long-term objectives to meet business needs.
Negotiate supply and service agreements.
Analyze, track, and negotiate modifications to contract financial terms.
Coordinate with university on marketing and branding initiatives.
Maintain adequate technical knowledge to be fluent in industry terms and concepts.
Maintain a deep knowledge of the drug development and diagnostic development process.
Team with product development leaders on development/launch tactics.
Develop workforce and staffing initiatives for the business development to ensure timely and professional execution of division goals.
Embrace, demonstrate and lead for organizational culture goals, including regulatory goals such as a Safety Conscious Work Environment.
Set expectations for civil, professional behavior in the division.
Actively pursue interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation within MURR.
Develop and monitor annual divisional expense/revenue budgets.
Ensure regulatory compliance as applicable to business development.
Effectively represent the organization in internal and external interactions and communications.
Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the organization and its divisions and mechanics.
Mentor and develop staff for succession and depth.
Commit to ongoing continuous improvement activities focused on efficiency and effectiveness of business development.
Participate and represent MURR in industry organizations.
Successful candidates will be persuasive communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Salary $103,000 - $222,818/year Shift M-F, 8:00-5:00+ evenings and weekends as needed Minimum Qualifications A bachelors degree in related/relevant area and at least 8 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
