ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Create highly engaging content for the department’s social media accounts that aligns with the department’s brand.
Monitor social media accounts, respond to comments, track analytics, and provide analyses.
Write clear, attractive messages with a distinct voice that represents the department and the services available to Missourians.
Collaborate with communications team on public awareness communication campaigns.
Assist in creating and managing content calendars for social media accounts.
Collect, prepare, interpret, and communicate informational material to support and/or promote department programs, initiatives, and services to internal and external audiences.
Compose and edit text and graphic, video, and photographic illustrations for distribution to the general public.
Collaborate with department photographer/videographer to determine opportunities to create photo and video content for social media.
Travel to events to provide live social media coverage.
Brainstorm and present social media campaigns to achieve department objectives.
Work closely with internal staff and agency partners to share information creatively and timely.
Ensure that social media messages are planned and scheduled for regular distribution to meet department needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
COMPETENCIES:
Strong written and oral communications skills required.
Attention to detail.
Strong creative skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Best practices for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Knowledge of marketing and advertising practices and techniques.
Knowledge of general principles of layout and design.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites highly preferred.
Photography and video experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Beneficial education and/or work related experience includes technical or professional experience in business, personnel or public administration or closely related area, including military service
